Derek,
Thanks for the schedule.......I plan on making it up to Reading a lot more often this coming season. I spent all that money on hardware, might as well put it to good use.

It will be good to see you there. If there are others that want to get in to high power or just want to see what it's about, please contact me and I will get you squared away.

Actually,
I was hoping to get my girlfriend up to Reading for a try. She has a nice B'master CMP rifle. The experience she's gained doing 200 yd offhand stuff has been a good primer for her.
If I can get her hooked, she could help me make my ammo as well!

That would be great. I wish Melody would shoot HP as well. I would just be afraid she would beat me. [shock]

Cledus get her shooting the BH 77gr's and I'll have the 300 and 600 yard come ups for the both of you.

After seeing those CT Jr. Team girls shoot at 600..........I don't think I can say I'm all set.......Looks like I have a lot of learning to do, but I'm ready for Spring at any rate.

Next question is where do I find F-Class rules?

It's something new the NRA is trying to get off the ground. I don't believe they are even giving classifications yet.

The rules I use at my matches as the NRA has explained to me is - Any rifle, any sight. Course of fire is the same as service rifle but all stages are shot prone. Shooter can use both, a front and rear rest but rifle must be in the shoulder. Like rifles and sights compete against each other.

F-Class is shot along side service rifle. Bolt shooters have an additional 10 seconds during rapid fire stages same as vintage military rifle shooters.

The NRA had nothing on their site. The Canadians did, though, but man are some of those rules vague.

Looks like nothing bigger than 8mm, so, that rules out a 338 Lapua. I'd probably shoot a 308 or build a 300 Wetherby Mag.

They are vague. My take from the NRA is they want some type of competition that will attract the deer hunters and plinkers. So, basically, it's open to any center fire rifle, with or without a scope, and requires little more than ammo to round out the equipment list. The competition is then broke down to where iron sights vs. iron sights, scope vs. scope, etc.

From what Derek and I have been PMing, it's NOT a good place to start.

It's about as competitive as IBS Score Shooting, especially the HV Class.

This from the man that argued with me that women didn't shoot better than men, and, who never followed up on the challenge I made last year.

[lol] [lol] [lol]

Thank you Derek. [wink]

Careful. My wife used to be easily able to outshoot mewith a handgun, and her highest score with an M16 is definitely higher than mine.

Derek, I can guarantee you will NEVER outshoot her highest score on the Army Qualification course, unless you figure out a way to score 41 hits out of 40 (she shot a perfect score 40 for 40 in late 1979 or early 1980).

Derek,
You mean to say you've been doing this for how long and she's never had even the slightest bit of interest?
I got my daughter started when she was 9 and my girlfriend has some VERY nice hardware of her own.
Both of them could give me a very tough time if they just practiced a little more.
Perhaps this will be the year you drag Melody to Reading and she in turn will drag you home.
TACJC

I like to have a cigar with the boys after a match and shoot the shit. Melody would want to go home and see our kids. Maybe we can take two cars. :p

Hey Derek......

Did you go to Reading yesterday? I was planning on going to shoot and stay for the meeting but the roads were really icy in the morning so I didn't make it. Was just wondering what went on at the meeting.
