1917 Dated Accessories

1917 dated accessories can be expensive!!

... here's almost $200 worth in three pieces, for the Model1903.

But I figured that my original finish RIA could use some "near period" accoutrements. I ran out of sunlight to get a good picture with the sling and bayo installed, so you'll have to use your imagination.

Tell me about it; that's why my '03 Springfield is my only type of rifle that doesn't have a bayonet yet. Good for you. It is on the 'list'.

I think I did all right, though. The uncut and unsharpened Model 1905 bayonet is a tough commodity to locate. This one is also blued steel and a low production year for RIA. The canvas 1910 scabbard is original, with a few tears in the leather tip.

I wish I could read the maker on the sling, but it is too far gone. But all items are pretty solid for the age. And they'll look mighty fine with the gun.

My Garands and Springfield all have period vintage leather slings and Pecards Oil keeps them alive.... good stuff.

Slim chance you'll see it at a show but their site does do mail order. Thats how I got mine. It definitely works well on old and brittle slings and other leather items.
