I fired a shot, hull would not eject. Knocked it out real easy with cleaning rod. Now it will not lock up when closed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

New England Handi Rifle break action?

Broken ejector spring perhaps?
Open it and see if it's moving freely .
Pieces of the spring might be jamming it up.
