Worcester IDPA 1/7/12

Basic pistol. Was I mistaken in what I remember? I don't want to cause confusion, but I also want to make sure I remember right, and that there was indeed a good reason for this standing out in my mind.

Edit to add: I think I was using the release, and somehow remember being corrected to not do this.

The NRA Basic Pistol course isn't about shooting action pistol sports. It was developed to teach new shooters how to use revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. NRA's suggested manipulations aren't always about whats most efficient.

You should take an Intro to IDPA course. Both Metrowest Tactical and GOAL offer these courses.
 
Thanks everyone for the clarifications. It was kind of what I was wondering when I asked the original question. So, I did remember it right, and there is a difference and a good reason. Point taken.
