Para USA's Todd Jarrett Repeats As Limited Champ At USPSA’s Summer Blast

Sedro-Woolley, WA — For the second year in a row, Hopewell, Virginia’s Todd Jarrett has taken the Limited-10 title at the United States Practical Shooting Association’s (USPSA) 8th Annual Summer Blast. The charity pistol match was held July 10-13 in Dallastown, Pennsylvania.

Jarrett won seven of the ten shooting stages in the match briefly swapping the early lead with second place finisher and Canadian shooter Mike Burrell of Woodbridge, Ontario. Then Jarrett took command after the fourth stage and never relinquished his lead winning the match by more than 88 points with a score of 1209.1642.

“Todd Jarrett is one of the country’s best shooters and, as one of those he beat this weekend, I can tell you he’s also one tough competitor. We congratulate him on winning back-to-back Summer Blasts. I just hope he takes next year off,” joked Larry Houck, match director of the Summer Blast.

Rounding out the top five were Burrell in second with 1120.3319 points and Eddie Gammons of Conetoe, North Carolina, in third with 1116.2501 points. Sam Brown from Sharpsville, Pennsylvania, and Chris Keen from Xenia, Ohio, finished the match in fourth and fifth respectively with scores of 1046.0984 and 1017.2986.

The USPSA Summer Blast charity pistol match was held at the York Izaak Walton League in Dallastown, Pennsylvania. Since its inception, the match has raised over $15,000 for local charities. A total of 331 top shooters, a record number, competed this year for titles in USPSA’s Open, Limited, Limited-10, Production, Revolver and Single Stack divisions.
