Army Marksmanship Unit Shooters Finish One-Two In Area 7 Limited Match

Sedro-Woolley, WA — Sgt. Travis Tomasie and Spc. Lee Dimaculangan of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit (USAMU) delivered a one-two punch finishing first and second in the Limited division at the United States Practical Shooting Association’s (USPSA) Area 7 Championships held in Harvard, Massachusetts. It is the third consecutive Area 7 title for Tomasie who is ranked among the very best Limited shooters in the nation.

“Travis and Lee put on a shooting clinic dominating the Limited division. Along with the one-two finish of their teammates in the Open match, the Army team had another great weekend on the competition circuit,” said Rob Boudrie, USPSA’s Area 7 Director.

Rounding out the top five Limited shooters were three competitors from the Area 7 region. Richard Smith of Monson, Massachusetts took third while Dennis Bottge of Wappinger Falls, New York narrowly defeated Scott Botelho of Somerset, Massachusetts on the tenth and final stage to secure fourth place by less than three match points.

The USPSA Area 7 Championships were held at the Harvard Sportsmen’s Club in Harvard, Massachusetts June 6-8. A total of 188 top pistol shooters competed in USPSA’s Open, Limited, Limited-10, Production, Revolver and Single Stack divisions. The USPSA Area 7 region includes Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont but shooters from Georgia, Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania as well as Canada and Jamaica attended.
