Doe,s anyone know if there is Another Web site that would have a Globe Front sight for a 1922 Springfield .22 cal Rifle Other than Gun broker,E-Bay Amazon, Gun Parts, or CMP ?? i have tried those with no results I am Looking for the Front Sight that fits in the Dove tail that the Blade fits and locks with the Lock Screw, Any Information would be appreciated, Thanks S.D.

I'm sure that you've discovered that these rifle parts are few and far between. Probably one or two front globes might trade on the usual websites - but over a five year span instead of five months, weeks, days.

Best to target your search by joining a couple of specialized forums and placing a WTB ad. One forum which comes to mind is Jouster (Culver's Shooting Pages), and look up a fellow named Herschel (or Hershel). He's the Springfield .22 cal guru of note.

Best of luck!

Meanwhile, enjoy what you do have. Many came through with standard sights, and a decent period front sight hood will do.

Do you know what sight was originally used? Are you looking for the "correct" sight or just something you can use.
I would think a Lyman globe sight would work just fine.
I only know of and seen/shot one M2 and the Gent who owns it has been in his family since the 50s.
It had a Redfield adapter that goes into the dovetail then a Olympic globe sight attaches to that.

there's actually a couple of M2s for sale up at Shooters if anyone is looking for one. Looked to be in decent shape but not cheap.

I gave my friend a call and asked him what front sight he has.
The current set up is a Redfield base made for what he believes is a 1903a3 but he uses this set up because he has different height globes for different distances. 50/100/200.
The original sight he has that was on it is a Lyman 17 XNB.... he's not sure if that is what supposed to be on it? That's what his dad bought it with. Rear sight is a Lyman 48. He tells me from what he knows his receiver dates to 1934 but has a 1942 barrel so rebuilt at some point. He's not sure where his dad picked it up but thinks most likely at the nationals. He also thinks he might have put chased through the NRA in late 50s or early 60s.
Great guns I missed a few chances to buy on the cheaper side. Now they are up there in price.

Some choices for you
https://www.trackofthewolf.com/list/Item.aspx/875/1 not original but should find one that works?

I would go with the dove tailed base. Steve Earle makes the dove tailed bases. He made me a nice low front sight mount for my remington 513 U.S. PROPERTY marked rifle....now I can go out to 200 yards with the rear sight nice and low.

I lost so many sources on my old PC crash ....just found this. They have been great in finding sights and parts for me.
They also make stuff.

The correct sight for a 1922 is a Lyman 17a XFA ck eBay and Culvers Shooting pages IMG_20160523_185529984.jpg

Good thing is Lyman still makes the 17a
You could go with a new production 17a AUG which I think is the tallest currently available at .584"
The only place Ive ever found them besides culvers and ebay is out of the way old gun shops like carrs and pack and postal ,I've never seen any new ones I think lyman dropped it in the 50s

The difference in height is about 3MOA higher than the .608"

If your looking to shoot the rifle and want other options you can get one of these.

Then attach one of several globe sights out there.
