VA Pittsburgh says ammo was not missing from order

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The VA said all its ammunition is accounted for after it earlier reported that about 2,000 rounds were missing from an order.

Earlier this week, the VA said an investigation was underway to find out what happened to the rounds missing from the order delivered to the facility in Pittsburgh.

But on Friday, the VA said it talked with the manufacturer and learned only 51 boxes were shipped and it did receive 51 boxes.

The VA said it's reviewing its internal process "to preclude recurrence."

The ammunition is used for police training, the VA said.

Poling's wife told a military informant that her husband often sold stolen military ordnance, and investigators traced dozens of Internet sales allegedly made by Poling and Starling to buyers in nearly 20 states, according to the search warrant applications.

Never, EVER tell your wife you are committing crimes.

Why does the VA need ammo? Firearms are prohibited from their facilities.
Because like about 100 other Federal Agencies, they run their own police department:

OK, which one of you guys swiped it ???

But Columbus police are still on the hunt for the missing ammunition, and asked anyone who might have seen it to call them right away — particularly if you have purchased 5.56 ammo in recent weeks.

“If you bought it from someone you know, if you saw it on social media marketplace, if you’ve gone to a gun show and you’ve seen it, we would just like you to let us know,” Weir said. “We track the lot numbers and try to find the ammunition, we will be interested to see where it turns out.”
