President Donald Trump is going to look into 3D-printed plastic guns, he tweeted Tuesday morning.

“I am looking into 3-D Plastic Guns being sold to the public. Already spoke to NRA, doesn’t seem to make much sense,” he wrote.

Blueprints for 3-D-printed firearms are set to be readily available online starting Wednesday, Aug. 1. Among the blueprints will be the AR-15 and the VZ-58, a 7.62 caliber Czechoslovakian assault rifle.


The State Department and Texas-based nonprofit Defense Distributed reached a settlement earlier this year that will allow the group, Defense Distributed, to release the firearms blueprints.

Hard to know if he's telling the truth about having spoken to _anyone_ about 3D-printed firearms, but clearly no one has set him straight about the facts:

• Most of the files have been available for years, and other organizations have produced CAD files of firearms.
• The files hosted by Defense Distributed have been available from their site since a few days after the lawsuit was settled.
• The case was only about Defense Distributed's ability to host the files on its website, per ITAR.

American Military News doesn't seem to be up on the facts either

Trump did not "Take himself out of the issue"...He did the opposite and gave the Anti's a hammer to use against Pro-Second Amendment supporter's by saying, "It didn't make much sense to Him". He could have taken himself out of the issue by saying Nothing!

Instead, Trump just like when he said in reference to Red Flag laws after Parkland, "Take the guns worry about Due Process later", gave RINO's and democrats the Ammo to Try and pass more Anti legislation.

How do you know those Judges Trump appointed are actually Conservative, until they make a ruling on the Second Amendment? Remember Obamacare ruling and Justice Roberts key decision? We all were told he was a "Conservative" and how did that work out for us?

These alleged "Conservative" judges that Trump has appointed, haven't made one ruling on the Second Amendment and you are already have them ruling in our favor. In all likelihood, they will send any controversial Second Amendment case back and not make a definitive ruling on it as SCOTUS as done in the past!

Also, Trump has been a registered democrat and Gun Control supporter virtually his Entire Life ( It is a matter of public record ) Untill just before he ran for President and changed his party affiliation to republican at an age that most people don't change and all of a sudden became a Pro-Gun.

That was Steve Scalise, and they were talking about Concealed Carry Reciprocity, not Constitutional Carry, which is a different matter. And Trump "rudely brushed him aside" because Trump (correctly) understood that Concealed Carry Reciprocity would not pass the senate because they would need 9 democrats to vote Yes, which they wouldn't. Yeah, it sucks, but that's why the GOP needs a larger majority.

Trump frequently uses A/B testing, where he will make statements which seem to contradict each other, but what he's really doing is getting a feel for how his base/the country feels about something.
