Well, with the results of the elections in, I figured I would buy a gift to all the democrats who have now taken office. So, I managed to find a very hard to find "evil" attachment (a quad rail) for my Springfield Armory SOCOM 16. Sure, Springfield wants you to send your rifle to them for installation and they won't let Vltor (the real manufacturer) sell it to you direct, but that didn't slow me down in finding one online. Now it looks like I have a new SOCOM II with the "extended" cluster rail (it goes all the way to back of receiver and attaches at stripper guide). Scary looking, democrats are sure to love it.
A 7.62 always looks good with a .45, forget that 5.56 and 9mm stuff.
You can remove the lower part of the rail quickly without tools, reduces weight and lets me attach my Harris bipod while I order one that can attach to a rail.
