The "K" was Ruger's way of labeling the stainless slides, as in non-blued.
It is almost never used after the sale and purchase of said pistol. I have a couple Rugers with the "K" designation.
Ah! I have a "P89" with the stainless slide. In their catalog it would have been a KP89?
