Ok so my old ass computer and camera are Kaputz and I have been to lazy to upgrade, so no pics

I decided to try some cast loads for the M1
200 grain, gas checked, 2500 white label lube, seated to 3.300"
H4895 35 grains didn't cycle the action, 38 grains did. Bullets fed with out issue (only 5 rounds tested)
Although my sights where off I was shooting for function
prone, sling for support , 200 yards.....five shots hit aprox 14" low vs my Standard 30-06 FMJ load and zero...but Happy to see a group that would fit nicely in the 10 ring if I set my sights to this load.. Good start so far.

I didn't think that lead bullets and gas systems was a good combination.

It may not be ideal but I don't think it's a big issue.
I ran approx 100 rounds of cast through another M1 last year. I used a flat nose 150 grain bullet.
Tried it for accuracy only. Used a pistol powder ( same load I currently run in my 1903a3) these bullets/powdee did,not cycle the action or feed well although they where as accurate as and hxp.
The tip of the op rod piston had some lead fouling......wiped right off.
