Springfield XD-9

Got a SA XD-9 service pistol purely by chance, incidentally. They are quite rare in Mass, I understand, especially in LNIB condition. What a nice pistol! I was surprised by the overall solid feel and the quality of design. I'd say it is better than Glock 19 in some aspects-great grip and trigger reach, grip safety, smooth and crisp trigger pull. I shot it as accurately as my G34 the first time at the range. It is a pity the SA XD is not available in MA, certainly quality guns.
Does anyone know if they were imported before 1998, i.e., if pre-ban mags are available?

The cutoff date for preban magazine manufacture is 9/13/94, and has nothing to do with the MA compliance cutoff date of 10/21/98. Two different ballgames entirely.

As a result of that, because the XD isn't that old, there are probably no pre-ban normal capacity mags for them.

I see. Still, even with 10-rd mags, a nice gun.

I really like the XD pistols. Nice pick up, though it is a bummer about the mags.
