When is it getting charged? Not in the safe or under your bed. Not getting charged when something goes bump in the night. Not a value in daytime.so a little more digging is no battery, it has a self contained lithium and solar charged.
It would be amazing if high quality thermals come down in price.
Digital nightvision is not on the same plain as decent tube nightvision, and not even on the same planet as decent thermal.Digital Night Vision | SIONYX

You have no idea if zombies have a thermal signature and if it’s different than humans! That's so cool. I wish I had a purpose for it. Make it easier to pick out humans from zombies in apocalypse I guess.

not sure, my take is if you springing for a thermal you're going bto use you rifle and if you charge it and it is a shake awake you should still have a charge when you pull it out, it may have a USB port for charging too which would enable you to run it off a battery pack. might make for a decent yote or pig set up in an ARWhen is it getting charged? I think the solar charged optics are a completely different series. These thermal and nv versions are powered by a rechargeable 18350 batteryso a little more digging is no battery, it has a self contained lithium and solar charged.

the DMS-NV should be priced under $1,000. That's impressive considering an AEMS red dot is nearly half that without the extra optical system on top. As for the thermal DMS-TH, there will be a standard model available for approximately $1,600 and a premium, higher-resolution model available for about $2,300.Holosun DRS: New Red Dot + Thermal Hybrid Optic

The red dot and secondary thermal or NV optic are independent of one another, so during the day you can leave the secondary optic disabled to conserve battery life. Speaking of batteries, the unit is powered by two 18350 rechargeable lithium batteries, which can be charged directly inside the DMS optic via a built-in USB port on the right side of the housing.
That USB port also offers the ability to stream footage to a secondary screen in real-time, so you could connect your DMS to a tablet and use it to observe a static position without getting behind the weapon.
