K-1 (ROK)
K-2 (ROK)
A rifle issued as an M-14A1 with the receiver marked "M-15". I shit you not. Issued to a guy in A 2/327 Inf prior to our deployment to the JRTC at Ft Chaffee AR in 1988. They called me over to see it as they had never heard of it and knew I was a gun guy. I don't recall if it had a heavier barrel or not...at the time our snipers were at the company level, 2 per. for JRTC they left their M-21's behind and were issued M-14A1's that were in the foil wrappers to use for the deployment.

The M15 was basically an early version of the M14A1. It wasn't around long since the M14A1 pretty much made it redundant.

And a Mk 19, just five rounds or so. I also manned a turret with a .50 cal once, but never got to shoot it. I also got to do the CFF on the Wyoming National Guard's very first Copperhead mission; that was a thrill.

started w 1911, then berretta, and finally carried the sig 226 during the last hurrah,

m16, m60 mk19 at4 years ago, mp5 and full auto m4 , rem 700 more recently.

familiarized w all the bad guys' AK variants including heavier crew served systems.

blew up a bunch of stuff but my proudest moment was back as an E4 - blowing up a shi+ house barrel (over in middle east) that I filled w JP1 cuz a senior nco ordered me to "burn the shi+" one too many times. it exploded into a huge mushroom cloud of fire and nastiness seen across the whole desert. :D

I carried a 1911 Remington Rand and the M60 machine gun most of the time. Did convoy duty once behind a 50 cal. The M14 was my favorite rifle. Never liked the plastic rifles back then. Oh, I also inherited a Smith and Wesson model 10 .38 caliber from a friend that rotated home. Taped the holster to my flack jacket with duct tape. It worked fine. Played with the M79 when needed as well as the Winchester 1897 when .308 ammo ran out a couple of times for a day or so. Fun with flechette rounds. Mr. Charles didn't like them very much. That's about it.

another blowing stuff up story here, during gulf war up in Iraq we found a brand new Iraqi 5 ton truck abandoned w out fuel and keys in the middle of nowhere. I got it going and my LT says "unload it and lets use it."
turns out we should have checked the cargo earlier, because it was full of artilery shells that were just thrown in the back. The friggon LT still wanted the truck unloaded , but it gets better, the shells had all their fuses screwed in and were in a huge random pile. so we end up asking some engineers to blow the truck up and be done w it.

So here we were setting about a 1/4 mile away when the thing goes off.
I still remember seeing that 5 ton evaporate in an instant, w its tires and parts going about a thousand feet into the sky in every direction. Most of us who had been around knew enough to hit the ground when we saw how big the explosion was, but a lot of people just stood there until huge chunks of burning steel came raining down on us. This one guy never lived down his reaction of frantically running back and forth holding a book over his head and us shouting at him to lay the F down!
good times but what a shi+ show

Yup, I knew that before they showed me, being an avid reader of "Small Arms of the World" ;-) Was weird seeing one. IIRC they were supposed to have had a heavier barrel than the A1.
