Has the final decision been made regarding carrying in National Parks? I know that at one point the law was in then it was out then it was in again via a credit card bill (I still don't get that one). So what is the end result?

It was pushed back through (overturning/nulling the earlier restraining order on an executive order already in effect)...

"On May 22, 2009 President Obama signed a law (HR 627) that will prohibit the Secretary of the Interior from enacting or enforcing any regulations that restrict possession of firearms in National Parks or Wildlife Refuges, as long as the person complies with laws of the state in which the unit is found."

Note that it doesn't take effect until Feb 2010
Source? As I understood it, the original executive order was already in effect when the TRO was issued...

By "prohibit[ing] the Secretary of the Interior from enacting or enforcing any regulations that restrict possession of firearms in National Parks or Wildlife Refuges", they in effect restored the executive order...

Maybe I missed something - entirely possible...

Many internet sources all yield the same information:

IMPORTANT NOTE: The National Park carry provision won't become
effective until **9 months** after the President signs the Credit Card
bill. That means it will be effective sometime in February of 2010.

A new law permitting concealed loaded firearms at National Parks will not take effect until February and the Interior Department will continue to enforce Reagan-era restrictions until then, a spokeswoman said today.

The new statute takes effect nine months after it was signed, essentially putting off implementation until February 2010.

It appears that we will be able to carry in National Parks come February 2010. This is HUGE step forward that I never expected to happen. I can wait that long for this victory.

In this case, the reality is that we will be able to carry in National Parks come February 2010. This is HUGE step forward that I never expected to happen.
True, but since it was only stopped by a TRO, once that TRO became moot the original executive order should have been restored...

It is good news, every step we take in ensuring 2A's strength is a step away from having to "use it"...
