Ok, I am finding myself confused by what choke does what with shotguns. Does anyone have a link that has some good info on what chokes are used for what?

Here's a question that bothers me. If you have a choke in a
barrel, and you fire a slug, would that cause some sort of problem? It seems like the choke would cause a lot of back pressure and explode or something if the slug were a larger diameter than the choke width.
