Shall I care - and if so, why - if my buttstock is commercial spec and not mil spec?

AR15 for HD, target shooting and fun, nothing else. No competitions or hunting or anything like that.

OK, I am referring to the buttstock itself and the extension, the entire kit.
So the lower is mil-spec, I need everything to be mil-spec, or can I use commercial-spec buffer tube and commercial-spec buttstock?

It's a build (first one).

Thanks.

Lowers are all the same as far as where the stock attaches. If you buy a stock kit with the extension included, either will work.

The threads on the lower are identical. A mil-spec tube and stock are interchangeable with a commercial tube and stock, so long as you keep them paired.

Cause commercial sucks and if you ever want to change the stock, most vendors dont bother stocking as much stuff compatible with commercial. Basically, the only reason commercial exists is because its a skinflint option used by some manufacturers to save a few cents.
