I was recently on a hunting trip in a gun friendly state. I had an offer from a fellow Hunter to purchase my rifle for cash and the state we were in there is no paperwork required for a personal sale. So if hes legitimate what are the rules governing that type of sale. I looked on the board and didn't see a related question. Thx

You can not sell him the rifle without going through a dealer. Personals sales are federally prohibited between residents of two different states.
