Sell / Trade an FAL into CT - is it legal?

I haven't been able to read thru all the threads to try and figure this out - but here's the scenario. I've got a friend down in CT - and we're thinking of doing a swap - my end of the swap is an FAL.

Are FAL's legal in CT now? I am pretty much completely unfamiliar with CT law , so I don't know if they're just outright illegal - or if it's more of a MA situation where they're legal as long as they're configured in a certain way.

Any threads here that cover that?

Unless I'm mistaken, it qualifies as one of the AWs and needed to be registered as of Jan 1 along with all your 10+ mags. I know the FAL uses 20 rounders for the most part, both inch and metric. I don't see why you could not trade it for something else as long as it was properly registered in the beginning. What the new owner is to do is anyone guess. I don't have a clue.

[(iii)] (III) A [bayonet mount] forward pistol grip;
[(iv)] (IV) A flash suppressor; or [threaded barrel designed to accommodate a flash suppressor; and]
[(v)] (V) A grenade launcher or flare launcher



This gun fails on both counts. Sorry to tell you that.

The only way to get a gun like this into the state is:

1) Break the law
2) it is a pre-ban (1994) gun. There are plenty of pre-ban FALs.
Another choice is the Cetme. 90% of the goodness at half the cost. And all Cetme's are preban.

Hey Don, correct me if I'm wrong but the words in section 2 in brackets represent the old wording of the previous ban. So if someone is reading it below they would want to just ignore the words in brackets that are struck through and essentially read it as if they aren't there. Correct?
