Suspect shot during break-in dies, 2nd man sought for questioning.

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A burglary suspect shot by a homeowner Friday has died, and Bernalillo County investigators would very much like to talk to a second man who was believed to be present.

Frank Castillo, 19, died at University of New Mexico Hospital where was taken after the shooting Friday afternoon.

According to sheriff's investigators Castillo and a second man, Manuel Leo, 20, broke into the home in the 9900 block of Academy Street NW.

The homeowner had armed herself and shot Castillo
. A car was then seen leaving the scene.

Leo is only wanted for questioning at this point, according to Capt. Gregg Marcantel. If he's not found soon, a warrant will be issued for his arrest, he added.

Details of the shooting are not being released because investigators say they first need to talk to Leo.

"This is his opportunity to explain why he was there at the scene," Marcantel said. "It's not a question of whether he was at this point; it's a question of why. So we would invite him to come talk to us."

Marcantel said Leo may be driving a 2001 four-door Lincoln Town Car with two-tone dark coloring and New Mexico license plate "NMSU 6607."

So far investigators have not received any tips on where Leo is. Anyone with information on his whereabouts can contact the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department or Crime Stoppers at 843-STOP (843-7867).

And while there is no evidence Leo is armed, investigators do consider him to be dangerous.

Good thing she didn't live in Massachusetts.

Good work, home owner - a woman, to boot.

Better a dead home invader than a dead/injured home owner.
