Rumor of the Day: Remington Has Fired All AAC Personnel

I'm so done with Remington, it's not even funny. First, their own QC went down the tubes in the name of monetary savings, leaving owners with a product that is vastly inferior to their old production. Now, they pull the same crap with AAC. So, their suppressors won't be a viable option anymore, shortly. They have a way to screw things up. Savage it is. Or Stiller, Surgeon, or Montana rifle works. But certainly no more Remy products.

son of a bitch. I hope they will still honor any warranties on the AAC cans I am waiting for stamps on.

Site also says that the personnel from DMPS and Para are getting the axe too. Manufacturing headed down to Huntsville.

Aloha

Not that big a loss to the weapons and ammo world actually. Those folks should find work fast
Tell that to all the people who have purchased AAC products recently, and may have to get them serviced at some point. Also, AAC was an innovative company. The 300 became popular really fast. What was the last product from Remington that secured market shares as quick as the Blackout?
BIG. CORPORATIONS. SUCK. MOOSECOCK.

I have never received worse service than from Para... I'm done with anything freedom group, period.

I've been saying that about FG for years and people act like I am crazy. Their business policies drove me away, and I will stay away.

I didn't know Remington owned AAC. Are they trying to ruin once proud names in the gun world? What I hear about Marlin is that QC has gone way, way down since the move.

Its business, if they are closing a division they must not have been making money.

more like, they are closing a division to make more money

either way it's a common business practice: acquire a new brand; assimilate the product line; and then close the satellite division. It usually takes a year or two. It's not practical for big companies to keep multiple offices. They like to close them as fast as they buy the next brand. Unfortunately quality can seriously suffer once the manufacturing is relocated.

AAC moves to Huntsville 2/2015.

Specifically, Remington is moving AAC production to the consolidated factory in Huntsville, AL in February 2015.

I wouldn't buy any AAC product made in the next 12 months (ditto for the other business units which are relocating), but I'm not going to boycott Remington over a business decision.

Good to know, but I am likely going to look at other companies for the pistol can I want.

So the same thing they did moving Bushmaster to NY is happening again. Most of the workforce will not move, new workers will be hired. Quality will plummet as the new workers have no experience and knowledge from working with the product for years. QC and repairs will be in the toilet until the new people actually learn the product.

Basically Remington buys companies for their product, not their experience, knowledge or quality.
