"ALERT! The RI Senate is considering passing one or more of the gun bills. We need YOU to contact Senate President Dominick J. Ruggerio this week and ask him to NOT bring any of the gun control bills that have been introduced this session for a floor vote! If his secretary doesn't answer please leave a message or call back later. The phone number is (401) 222-6655! Please share!"

We need to keep the pressure on, now more than ever. This is the time when they think that we've moved on and they're free to do what they please. Now is not the time to back off. We must, as a group, continue to keep pressure on all elected officials and remind them that our rights are not negotiable.
Call and email as often as you can, and don't forget to press all like minded friends and family to do the same.
If we remain united, we will win, but everyone needs to be involved.
Thank You all for your continued efforts.

DUE TO A FRIDAY RULE CHANGE...THE ONLY WAY TO HAVE OPPOSITION TO EACH BILL TO BE COUNTED IS TO SIGN UP TO TESTIFY TO EVERY ONE OF THEM. THEY WILL ONLY CALL YOU ONCE BUT YOUR OPPOSITION IS ONLY COUNTED FOR BILLS YOU SIGN UP FOR.....

PLEASE TAKE A FEW MINUTES SUNDAY BEFORE 4:00 PM TO SIGN UP FOR EACH AND SHARE THIS INFORMATION!!!!!!!!

Bad Bills: S73, S129, S402, S406, S414, S415,
S416, S417, S737, S742

Good Bills: S119, S176, S191, S419, S456, S507, S508, S509, S517, S522

It's imperative that we all make our voices heard. This is going to be the last public hearing on these bills and our last chance to give direct testimony.
We all need to do our part to get through this.

On Wednesday, March 11th, 18 individual gun bills are scheduled to be heard at the State House. These bills include magazine and weapon restrictions, prohibition of firearms in a school zone, registration of firearms, and even a requirement to release your medical records before purchasing a firearm...
This is a major hearing, and all firearms owners should be very concerned. We need everyone to come to the State House on Wednesday, March 11th, anytime after 3:30. The hearings are going to go on into the night, so whenever you can get there and sign in opposition to these horrendous attacks on the firearms community, please come in and do so.. Late is much better than not at all.
There are a few pieces of pro gun legislation being heard as well, but the vast majority is bad... Very bad for anyone who owns a firearm and very bad for Rhode Island.
The Governor has referred to all of us as a "Negative Externality". These bills are the manifestation of her hatred of the firearms community and all of it's members. Let's not allow her personal agenda to destroy us. We must unite in opposition.

Make your calls, send your emails, and gather your family and friends, and get to the State House. Together we can win..
Thank You.

I'm glad Casimiro is on the Judiciary committee because she is my Rep. and I've reached out to her before. Looks like she'll be hearing from me again this week

I examined the proposed legislation. Once again, I see LEO exemptions (including retired LEOs) and access to medical records. Might be time for RI residents to choose out-of-state doctors.

*** Legislative Call To Action ***

* A ban on popular Semi-Automatic rifles, shotguns, and handguns.

* A firearms Registry, that will open the door for a government imposed ban and confiscation.

* A ban on all standard capacity magazines, including the tubular magazine on your .22

* Restrictions on transportation of firearms in vehicles.

* Restrictions on firearms in school zones.

* Restrictions on anyone under 21 in possession a firearm.

* A requirement for you to release all of your medical records before making a firearm purchase.

These are just a few of the 18 bills that are being heard Wednesday, March 11th, beginning at 4pm and going on into the evening.

Don't take the attitude that "they'll never pass". The Bloomberg groups have been pouring time and money into these bills, and they claim that they have a majority of the Judiciary Committee members on their side.

The only way to defeat this attack on the Second Amendment Community is an overwhelming show of opposition.

Everyone who can needs to get to the State House and sign in opposition to this proposed legislation. If we don't stand together, we'll all be felons upon passage.
Hopefully you can make it, and bring anyone with you that you can.

Also, keep the pressure on.. call, email, let them know how we feel.
Remember, United we can win.

I live in Georgia, spend summers in Connecticut and the only time I go into Rhode Island these days is to shoot Walls of Steel; so I've got less invested in this than any of you who live and shoot there regularly.

That being said, I just started reading these bills, and you need to contact your legislators. These bills are awful.

Primary example, (bold added by me):
10 (1) "Large capacity feeding device" means a magazine, box, drum, tube, belt, feed strip, 11 or similar device which has a capacity of more than ten (10) rounds of ammunition. The term 12 large capacity feeding device shall include an ammunition feeding device with a removable floor 13 plate or end plate, or any other feature that allows the device to be readily converted to accept 14 more than ten (10) rounds of ammunition. The term shall not include an attached tubular device 15 which is capable of holding only .22 caliber rim fire ammunition or a feeding device that has been 16 rendered permanently inoperable.

Yeah - so your 10 round mags for your Glock 19/17/34/whatever. Banned under this proposed legislation. You can add a +2 or +4 baseplate. The legislation doesn't say "any converted magazine", it says "any other feature that allows the device to be readily converted to accept more than ten (10) rounds of ammunition".

These bills get defeated and come back every year. The goal is to tire out the citizens so they stop protesting. Gotta fight every year!!

It just takes them the swipe of a pen to bring those bills back. While it takes years and lots of money for citizens to get their rights back (if that even). It's an uphill battle we fight.

Tonight’s hearings have been postponed. Please continue to call and email your delegates , let them know we are not going to go away. Thanks for your support.

Good. They knew the crowds were going to be massive and Governor Useless had to make a decision, does her hate for firearms trump the good sense not to have thousands of people all jammed into the statehouse with everything going on.

I moved to RI last year, the guy at the shop was telling me about this last week. We gotta try to fight this but it seems like an uphill battle in these lib states. I just picked up 2 bx-25s and 2 17rds for my sig too, would we be reimbursed or just turn em over?

With that attitude, just bend over now...

You can't stop fighting. Also "just turn em over" is blasphemy.

There will be a rally at the RI State House this Thursday in an attempt to dissuade legislators from ramming these extremely anti-gun bills (as noted above) through the legislature. The proposed bills, if passed, would represent the most restrictive gun laws in the country. Please consider attending...and bring your family and friends. Here's some additional info from the RI 2nd Amendment Coalition:

"RI Rally For Our Rights!
Thursday, June 10, 2021
3:00 – 7:00 pm
Rhode Island State House

We need to have a strong showing if we are going to dissuade legislators from supporting this nonsense.

This event will be held outside on the Smith Street side of the Statehouse building. Parking is available on the street, in the Providence Place Mall parking lot and state employee parking lot (after 4pm). Because this is outside there are no size limits on signs. We encourage everyone to bring signs, use facts to defend ourselves from the lies. As always, please be courteous and respectful so we do not feed into the gun grabbers and media agenda."

And BTW, there was an anti-gun rally held there yesterday, and supposedly, according to news reports, only 24 people showed up. As the 2nd Amendment Coalition says: "A much larger turnout for 2A on Thursday will show politicians gun controllers are a small group and gun rights advocates represent a lot more votes and campaign contributions."
