Just messing around with a new light reflector, and a different backdrop..

What do you think?

I think I like the second shot better and I think my Raven 25 would be more fun to carry if I could find hollow point ammo that cycled reliably in it.
I also think its time I learn how to use the Kodak I picked up from Circuit City a while back so I can start my own gun porn threads. 8)

I don't know if I would want to carry hollow points in it. I would be concerned about under penetration.

+1 - that small a caliber might just P the bad guy off. [lol]

I have a Colt 1908 in .25 It was the carry gun of a friend of mine, and he put frangables in it.

I'd also be worried that frangable or JHP ammo would just piss off the baddy.

Ball ammo would be my choice if the Iron Curtain is ever lifted in Belmont.

Or maybe a conversion to the .88 OMG round! 8)

PS: I like the top one better, shows off the finish!

I really need to get with you and learn me some photo taking skills.

Seriously...you take some great pics, Adam [lol] . I'd love to learn how to take nice pics like that too...Care to hold a small class one of these days?

Nice pictures.

I'd vote for the second shot. I like the contrast & depth on the pistol in that one. I think the new reflector is doing a good job. The background seems like it was difficult to get a smooth curve into though, the creases light up prominently.

Yeah... I guess this is the reason this background has been sitting in the basement. Not quite a fabric material, more like construction paper. After I started to set it up, the paper creased, and it reminded me why I don't use it anymore! Maybe with my other light setup, it would help with the shadows in the first pic, but I can't seem to find my other stand and umbrella anywhere... Guess I'll have to keep looking.

There is on thing I do like about that background though. If you had enough reflectors and/or lights you could just about make that background disappear into a light neutral grey. If you can get around the creasing, that would work nice.

You do nice work. And you seem to have a lot more patience with setting things up than I usually do. My usual method (unless it's something important) open safe or case, set on floor, snap picture... :)

I did actually do this in kind of a hurry... As a matter of fact, I was so lazy, the object behind the gun that's holding the background up is Kim's sewing machine! I just left it on the table, draped the backdrop over it, setup the light and reflector and snapped away.
