Prohibitionists never stop trying

Crap, did youi see that this time, it's 5 rounds, not 10?

(Guy at the church only had 3 round capacity in his shotgun.) You had to know this was coming. The consensus at the time of the first AWB was that 10 rds was still too much but they couldn't get anything less passed. I'm still suprised that they still are trying after what happened with Heller. The anti's just don't seem to get that they are on the losing side now...

( Removed per another post correctting my mistake. )

The sponsor and cosponsors are all republicans [thinking] [puke]

Shouldn't really come as a surprise … same shit, different pile. Doesn't matter what party they are in, they'll all do whatever they can to get elected, and once in to stay in power as long as possible.

Political parties all have the same goals, and you and I are just minor inconveniences that they must endure along the way to achieving those goals.

It should be based on bullet weight! You are limited to a 500 gr. capcity.... sorry EddieCoyle you can only put half a bullet in your 500's!

You want to have some more anger with the morning coffee? Look at the list of the rifles - you see anything interesting? That's right boys and girls, the SASS people aren't going to like this at all with their favorite lever actions on the potential ban list!

All of the lever-action, bolt-action and other guns listed in the appendices are actually exempt from the ban.

This bill sucks, but that needed pointing out.

A bill with one sponsor and four co-sponsors is virtually DOA. The fringe is at work, nothing else.

Straws that fire spit wads are already not legal in Mass. Mass. calls them pea blowers and they are against the law to build, sell or possess in the Commonwealth.

Well thank God for that!

Who would want to live in a land where such devices of death and dismemberment were allowed?

And I wonder if the Heller Case will have an effect on this one?

Oh, definitely have an effect. The AWB flies in the face of Heller, and the politicians KNOW it. They still don't care.

I'd wager this gets less traction than the LAST time they tried it.

Yup, IIRC, it's been up a couple of times since the repeal in 2004. Never gets out of committee, though.

The idea is that they submit it and set it on the back burner. If and when they think they have a chance to pass it, it will come out the gate like a racehorse.

In looking over the list of "weapons" I came across this gem:

>>>`Centerfire Rifles--Autoloaders<<<

`Browning BAR Mark II Safari Semi-Auto Rifle

`Browning BAR Mark II Safari Magnum Rifle

`Browning High-Power Rifle

`Heckler & Koch Model 300 Rifle

`Iver Johnson M-1 Carbine

`Remington Model 7400 Rifle

`Remington Model 7400 Special Purpose Auto Rifle

`Ruger Mini-14 Autoloading Rifle (w/o folding stock)

`Ruger Mini Thirty Rifle

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the highlighted rifle a rimfire? At least, the one in my gun safe is.

Or maybe I've been feeding it the wrong ammo all these years???

[laugh]
