I bet if you choose the right radio you could get a 40watt 2m radio in there, as well as a couple 12v batteries, the mic/speaker, and a 2 meter ladder line j-pole.

That is a nice application for an ammo can. I have had great success finding commercially made versions of this specifically made for mounting radios and power supplies.
