A stolen truck parked outside a Palmer house on Tuesday reportedly had guns and body armor when it was taken overnight from Vermont, police investigating the incident said.

Massachusetts State Police and the Palmer Police Department closed off 16 Gay Street around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning after police found a Chevrolet truck reported stolen out of Whitingham, Vt., last night.

“Multiple firearms and body armor were reported to be in the vehicle when it was stolen,” state police spokesperson David Procopio said in a statement.

Presumably, somebody stole the truck for the guns and armor? The town where it was stolen is very small and relatively remote from any other bigger cities, so it had to be an insider theft - somebody who knew the truck had guns. Or just a truck theft with a score?

What the article isn't saying is that the truck was initially spotted in Springfield and ran from the cops there who lost it. They found the truck thanks to basically OnStar in the truck pinging it on Gay street. The WWLP article was also saying that the truck supposedly had "armor piercing ammunition" when it was stolen.
