Permit Wait Times

I have my CT Pistol Permit, my father in-law and a mutual friend of ours have applied for one in Norwich. Back in October, they told the friend it would be 14 Weeks. It is getting closer to 20 weeks now! When my Fil went to apply in January, they told him it could be 14-18 weeks as they didn't really have someone processing the local aspect of the background checks.

I know what the general statutes state, and I also know there are no repercussions for denying the 2nd amendment guaranteed rights of the city's townsfolk. My FIL decided to submit the letter attached to http://www.ccdl.us/attachments/115_Permit_to_Carry_Time_Mandates.pdf as part of his permit paper work when he submitted it after they told him it could take 18 weeks!

Is there anything, anyone, or any action that can be taken to do anything about this horrendous slow down?

Yes, appeal. The permit delays in CT have become ridiculous.

I have heard of a 11 or 12 week time frame till approval but that is just insane. File an appeal before its too late

I mailed in for non-resident pistol permit on 02/03 got my license today 03/12
not bad at all.

No word from Norwich, but a close friend in Dnaielson applied in February and got his in 3 weeks and 4 days! Norwich has no excuse.

Old Saybrook just turned a temp permit around in less than 4 weeks.
