NEW "SMITHY" AVAILABLE AT PELHAM

Appleseed NH is inaugurating a new position at Appleseed shoots, the gunsmith or "Smithy" position.

We have an accomplished gunsmith, Tony Stehlik, who will be manning a portable gunsmith bench with all the accouterments behind the center of the line.

He will sell and install the most important parts or modifications you need to solve your equipment problems early on in the shoot, so you can concentrate on making Rifleman in less time. He will have a decent inventory, including all the Liberty Training Rifle (LTR) parts (slings, sling parts, auto bolt release, and quick mag release), comb and stock extenders, sight adjustment tools, and appropriate ammo in .22LR, .223, and .308. He'll be able to modify and install the stock part for the 10/22 auto bolt release in minutes. And install quick mag releases on the spot.

Broken or worn 10/22 firing pin, producing numerous misfires with good ammunition? Smithy is your man.

Decide that iron sights don't work for you? Want a Weaver rail and a inexpensive scope to see the darned target? Eventually Smithy will be your man. (Maybe not by Pelham--stocking inventory will take time--Tony's not made of money.)

It looks like Larry at Tech-sights will grant him a dealership, so by Pelham he should be able to sell AND INSTALL Tech-Sights at a discount right at the shoot!

Eventually he may expand his inventory to include complete LTR's all bore sighted and ready to go. Appleseed-appropriate scopes (4X fixed, $50 Bushnell), MIA and Garand parts, AR parts, AK and SKS parts, and more. One stop fixes for all your Appleseed needs.

This should allow Appleseed instructors to spend more time teaching skills and eventually will result in more Riflemen per shoot, because we'll solve all the equipment problems earlier in the process.

If you think you may need Tony's services, there's one more thing to add to your "What to Bring" list: cash. He's not some slick gun dealer who'll take credit cards. I'll bet he'll take .999 silver, though.

PELHAM MAY NOT BE SOLD OUT FOR SUNDAY

If you can do Sunday, it's better than nothing. We can bring you up to speed with what you miss on Saturday.

The catch is that these slots, if they're available, will only be available for walk-ons. So be there early or contact Thor on the Appleseed forum to get on the wait list. I'm not sure if he is on NES. (To PM Thor, you have to be an Appleseed forum member, which takes a couple of days to do, so plan ahead.)

Stellar event this weekend! Thanks to our NH Coordinator and his fellow instructors for a fine marksmanship course and lesson in what it means to be an American.

I'm a PFGC member, so if anyone want to meet up and do some AQT practice there, drop me a PM and we can form up a loose training schedule. I'm in Bedford, so you locals check in!
