Dear Shooters:

We will be holding our next match, a Carbine match, at Pelham F&G on
Saturday, Sept 13. The plan is to run 3 stages in the pits, and a
long-distance stage (200 yds) on the Silhouette Range. Registration
will be from 0830 - 1100. Cost will be $15 ($10 for staff and PFG
members).

For the long-distance stage, we will allow you to bring a different
rifle for this stage so if you have that scoped bolt gun and want to
give it a run on that stage, please do so. Caliber will be limited to
.30 or less (e.g. .308 and 30-06 are fine). This is because of the
steel target we will use on this stage. For your carbine, you will
need approximate 100 rounds of ammo, at least 2 magazines, a sling,
and eye/ear protection. If you use a different rifle for the distance
stage, bring 10 rounds for that gun. No AP, steel core, tracers, or
"penetrator" (M855) type ammo on steel targets.

Bring water and a snack, although we will have water available for a
small fee. Please visit the Pelham Fish and Game Web Site
(www.pelhamfishandgame.com) and click on the IDPA link to get
additional details.

This will be a fun match, so we hope you can make it. Questions?

P.S. I will be helping out with a shotgun match at Pioneer Sportsmen
up in Dunbarton on Sept 27th. The match director is our very own John
Krygowski. If you are interested in this match, see the other post on this topic.

P.P.S. Our remaining matches for the year are Oct 11 (IDPA Pistol),
and Nov 8 (3-Gun). Stay tuned for information on those matches.

Update on Match

Dear Shooters:

If you plan on shooting the match on Saturday, a few updates/clarifications:

1. Please bring your defensive pistol as well. We are designing 1 stage to include a brief transition to a pistol. The number of shots is minimal so you will only need a few rounds.

2. Any holster will suffice (including tactical "thigh" holsters) as long as the trigger guard is covered. You will not need an extra magazine, but you should have it anyway.

3. For the long-distance stage, the first shot will be a "cold" shot, so make sure you are zeroed beforehand. We will not have the luxury of helping you with that beforehand.

4. For the long-distance stage, you do not have to bring a different rifle. If you want to shoot your carbine in this stage, that is fine.

5. This match is rain or shine. Right now it looks like we'll be okay.

I hope you can make it. See you there. Questions to [email protected]

Paul,

Fun match, with the exception of Stage 3. Make sure Scott gets his full 20 lashes. No, it wasn't that bad. I like having to move, shoot, reload, and use the pistol. Doing all of that in one stage is hard to work-in.

How long on the results?

Thanks.
