Got us a letter from the Principal at Bedford HS in NH 26Nov, saying they heard a rumor of a student with a gun in his backpack at BHS. They found the kid with unloaded gun in backpack and no ammo - police took the kid into custody. The student up for a 12 month expulsion.
No lockdown or emergency call to parents on the reverse 911 system.
I'll follow up with the Principal as, despite being in NH, it all seems a bit low-key to me. No threats or prior incidents with this kid, apparently, but who knows what they could be missing.
I love the "was an isolated incident" comment - suggesting that lots of kids were not bring guns to the school along with this kid???
