New LMT Rifle - .308/AR Sweet

That's certainly an attractive rifle!

In time, more and more of the .308 varients of the AR platform will be developed and the prices will begin to drop. I only hope that more and more of them agree to some type of convention for parts and styles of lowers/uppers like the AR-15. Right now there are numerous models out there that won't allow parts swapping due to non-conventional designs. Mags, for instance, are all over the place. So are the lowers/uppers. One has a diagonal shoulder and the others have a radiused shoulder. IT would be nice if we could must buy the pieces we like and build our own. That's difficult today.

$2500 is a big nut to swallow for sure. You'd have to really want or need that rifle to spend those kinds of bucks. Still, it does come fully loaded with the quick change barrel and the trigger job. Wonder how good the trigger actually is!

I'm not convinced a one-piece upper/handguard gives you any more advantage than a regular free float handguard on a standard upper. Both function the same. No wonder it's so expensive, machining and building that would be difficult.
