Devens is loaded with deer. Just sit somewhere they'll come around eventually.
Do they assign areas for each hunter, or do they just release the 25 hunters onto south post to pick wherever they want?

You get in line....first come first serve. They assign you a "training area" that you ask for. Get ahold of a fort devens map from range control and all the boundaries of the training areas will be on that map. Try to get it ahead of time so you can look at the map/satellite imagery and decide which area you want. Once you are assigned that training area in the morning they give you a placard to put on the dash of your vehicle. Range control and the dod police WILL drive around and check your vehicle to make sure you are hunting the assigned area only.Do they assign areas for each hunter, or do they just release the 25 hunters onto south post to pick wherever they want?
