Years ago I bought my first two rifles from the-one-and-only FRED.
Little did I know at that time these rifles were the same as the one held by the iconic rooftop Korean in a red shirt, Mr. Kenneth Kiyul Lee. Well, we even share the same last name so the spiritual connection is strong!
Daewoo K1 was designed before the days of rails and attachments, and I always wished that
mine can be modernized a bit. Various aftermarket solutions came about but they cost more money for what they offered.
The ROK military has tried a number of rail solutions. One example looks like below, and they almost never get imported into the US:
And finally a Made-in-Korea rail came along and I jumped on it. The rail is being outfitted to ROK unit as we speak. Two rifles are pictured together for comparison.
The part pointed by the arrow is not secured by screws so it’s floating due to the rifle’s design. There is tiny amount of play if you press on it but it’s pretty tight.
Now I just need to hang a whole bunch of doodas on them for my rooftop Korean cosplay!
