My find today! WARNING PIC HEAVY

My find today. 1916 barreled Action GEW 98. Most looks matching as far as I can see only the trigger has a different sn on it. Not a bad find for $30.00 (Yes thirty dollars)

Good job on scrounging!

It will be tough finding a stock; if you're not particular, a 1909 Brazilian stock is easier to find. Looks like the ejector box is missing as well. How's the bore?

the bolt stop is missing ill look around tomorrow ( i work there) to see if it turns up was told it came in with one.bore looks awesome give me a sec ill take a pic

So after a closer look, it appears the the barrel was either replaced or resized. The barrel lenth is only 43 ", the origanal gew was 49.x" wonder where the lenth is so short and the same size as a k98 if it would fit a k98 stock.

Barrel was 29" on a Gew98 and 23.5 on a K98k, IIRC.

Ill have to look more the info i found said k98 where 24.02".

IIRC means 'if I remember correctly;' I was close. The original measurement would have been in millimeters. The spec was 610mm or 24.02 in. as you said.
