Max number of PM's?

I have 123, I just paired out a few but I'm sort of a pack rat. How many can we store? Thanks.

TOO MANY!!

I kept hitting 1000. Derek did me no favors by bumping it up to 5000! I hate PMs but many here love them and they pile up rapidly with folks asking questions. They are very difficult to manage, unlike Email. PMs do not let you move a "sent PM" to a different folder, only incoming PMs, just as a for-instance.
