If anyone is interested in an interactive map of MA there is a Java script one available through the mass.gov website. You will need to download “Oliver 2.4” to run it. I’ve only played around with it for about 10 minutes, but it may have some uses as it has many layering features.

If anything one may be able to pull out some hiking areas where you live.


To download the viewer:
http://maps.massgis.state.ma.us/massgis_viewer/download.html

You launch the viewer from the MASS GIS icon in the upper left after extracting the zip file.
 
It's a neat tool. I use it to print maps (combine an orthophoto with countour lines and protected openspace boundaries for a good WMA map) and also to export the data to my GPS. Here's an example of one of the maps I made with it:
