This is a great match with a great bunch of guys. Dave runs an awesome range up there. If you are thinking about going and the drive isn't too bad make the trip, you won't regret it.

Results!

The weather was cold and rainy but people still came. It came down to the wire and had to be decided by X's.

Nice Shooting PatMcD, you had an awesome score with the conditions that we had.

Thanks to everyone up in Hampden RPC for a great time and a great match. Also thanks to bpm990d for letting us crash at his place.

That isn't even the rifle he used. Here is the real one that isn't photoshoped. The Crossman 670 is just killer at the 600 yard line. [smile]

Who's rifle was he holding? I know he doesnt have a compensator on his. [wink]

I take it the 600 was a little tricky?

The entire match was miserable from my point of view. Might have been better if I was an amphibian. I'm just starting to dry my stuff out. Conditions were nothing to speak of for the 600, but it was pretty dark. There were two relays that had a lot of wind for 300 as an active storm front moved through. It blew like crazy.

You should have seen the 6&4 for his second 300 string in very crappy conditions. It was dark and raining hard. I'm surprised the pasters were still sticking to the target. It would have been a nice score on a fantastic day. Brent's boom stick was locked up so I just gave him mine for the photo-op.

I hope the leg match goes well for Pat. I was so wet I had no interest in going up to shoot it but an interested to find out how he does. He didn't get any takers on his offer for a free rifle. :-|

Sounds like a good time was had by all.

Love the 600 yard line sign. [smile]

Reminds me of FMJ: "That shows what a motivated Marine and his rifle can do"

I was right there with you guys (in the neighborhood) until the 600yd line [crying]. My hat is off to you guys that can shoot that well in those conditions. Congratulations, Brent and Brian! Well done!

It was good to see Brent, John, and Mark again, and nice to meet Bob. Might we hope to see Derek next year?

I might also add that this was ABSOLUTELY the most awsome weekend I have ever had. It started on Friday when I went to NAS Brunswick and saw the special Air Show rehearsal for Military and dependents (I went with my Retired Senior Chief buddy). Got to see the Blue Angels up close. Then Friday night, I got invited to the Afterburner Blast Lobster Bake on base and got to meet all the Blue Angels pilots and ground crew and saw a special night jump from the Army's Golden Knights. On saturday, I got to see old friends Brent, John, and Mark (I was a little hung-over from the free beer at the Bash the night before, so apologize if I wasn't very chatty). Then Sunday, I squeeked through for six points!

I need more weekends like that!

Nice going Pat! It sounds like you had a rockin good time this weekend. I'm envious, the party with the Blue Angles and Golden Knights sounded great!

There were six shooters within twelve points of each other (out of 800) so it was pretty well contested for such a small number of shooters. It makes it interesting and a real toss up as to who is going to win. A few shots here or their and you could have very easily won. Given the conditions you shot great!

Nice job on the six points. [rockon]

Cdkayak took a silver in the leg match and was within a percentage point of shooting master scores in that terrible weather and in the leg. You will probably get a new classification card soon. Nice job on both days!

Nice job guys. It was good to see everyone again. I've still got a few things hanging in the spare room drying.

Pat, Congratulations on the 6 points!

bpm990d, Congrats on Saturday's win! I don't think I'll be getting reclassified just yet. My scores from earlier this summer were not up to par at all. This weekend did feel good though, I didn't feel like I was rushing anything & the positions felt good. I think those are my two best scores to date.

That is awesome! The fact that you did it with all the rain and weather and you didn't let it get to you is great. It's hard to keep your concentration on a day like that. You will get a nice silver medal from the CMP for the Leg match.
