Gun Legislation Updates​ Patriot's Day Lobby Day​ Late Friday night, the Maine Senate passed a number of extreme anti-gun bills. These bills included 72-hour waiting periods on firearm purchases and transfers, redefining semi-automatic firearms as "machine guns," and implementing universal background check laws in Maine. These bills undermine Mainers' constitutional rights and would destroy Maine's robust firearm and hunting tourism industries. Despite these facts, several rural lawmakers voted FOR Michael Bloomberg's gun control bills in Maine. NRA members and gun rights supporters are encouraged to contact these lawmakers NOW and express their concerns regarding these votes.
