M1's for Vets

I was reading a local news paper while I was waiting for someone and there was a short article about M1's for Vets. I figured I'd come here to find more info but there really wasn't much.

Anyone donate to it? Anyone up for a group donations from NES? A small amount of money/tools/etc from a large number of us would be helpful.

Seriously though, look at the photos on the web site. These guys have paid a high price for a "Free" M1.

Tell you what, anyone want a free M1, go join the Army or Marines and volunteer to serve in Iraq, and I'll buy you one. Send me a picture of yourself once you become handicapped and incapable of working for a living and buying your own gun to shoot with.

I've heard about this program multiple times as I frequent the ODCMP boards. I think it's a great concept.
