A co-worker of mine was issued an LTC that's valid for about three more years that looks like the new issue ones, but reads: "Restrictions: Personal Protection/Self Defense. And it was issued in a RED city, Springfield, MA.
He said he got it because he wrote a letter with the application, stating that he was (at that time) a real estate appraiser/agent and had to travel to dangerous areas.
I was just shocked to see it listed as such... you'd think a Class-A with simply "NO Restrictions" would be easier for a PD (especially Spfld, MA) to issue than one that clearly states that it's for defensive purposes.
Has anyone else ever come across one of these?
(Note: he said he was pulled over about a year ago while carrying in another town and the officer commented on how rare it was to see LTCs with that verbiage on it.)
