What a beautiful day. Headed out with my BIL about 10 am. On the water by 11. Temp was in upper 40's and some sections hit 55 by days end. Caught two bass and one pickeral but one bass was a good one. 23 inches long! Scale battery was dead so I did not get a weight. Was subtantially bigger than the 5.76 I caught last October but not quite as much cheese.

We were spooking fish out of the shallows much of the afternoon once the water warmed up they seemed to move up too. Finally I smartened up and got up over the drop and instead of pitching the jig started making long casts and dragging it like a C-Rig and got a couple bites.. Black blue purple 3/8 Hy-Tech HYD Jig with a green pumkin chigger craw.

That's an awesome catch. I've been going out in Ashland to spots where traditionally decent size bass have hung out and all I've got are bluegill. I feel like the fishing gods are against me this year.
