I have found that, for .30-30 or .45-70, the Lee Factory Crimp (collet style crimp) works better than the regular die set roll crimp.

I have found that, for .30-30 or .45-70, the Lee Factory Crimp (collet style crimp) works better than the regular die set roll crimp.

I use these also. They work nicely.
Crimp varies widely from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Some are beautiful and some are not. I think it’s the RCBS cowboy die that makes a beautiful roll crimp in 45-70.
