LEOSA and D.C.

Planning a trip to DC later this week and trying to confirm details on CC specifically for the zoo and Smithsonian.

Smithsonian website specifically says no CC but then states active LEO are excempt.

Has anyone been recently? I'm planning to call on Tuesday and see if I can get a straight answer but figured someone here might have dealt with this recently

I do not know about the Zoo, but I do not believe that LEOSA trumps the carry ban in federal buildings.

I traveled to DC (active LE) and went to the Smithsonian Museum of American History. I had to lock up my weapon at the entrance, the police there were no problem at all and very helpful. Unsure abut the Zoo, but Fed property seems to all have lock boxes. Call ahead.
