Legal Issues? Moving from ME to CA with Glock

I have a friend (in MA) who is moving to CA with her SO (who currently lives in ME).

Said SO has a Glock and wishes to take it with him to CA.

Other than >10 rd mag issues, is it legal for someone to move into CA with a handgun w/o going thru a CA FFL and DROS?

My expertise is MA gun laws, not CA, so I reached out to SAS and he's never gotten back to me. I looked on Calguns.com and couldn't readily find anything relevant (they should do what we did and add a sticky for moving into CA with guns, but they don't have one that I could find).

Can anyone point out anything definitive in CA laws to address this that I can give my friend? [I already tried to talk her out of CA, no dice.]
