Large Caliber Ammo

Quick question, is owning "live" large caliber ammo legal? (20mm and above)

I own quite a few dummy shells, but wanted to expand my collection to live ammo, if it is legal. And if by chance it is legal, does anyone know of any sources for such ammo?

Nothing cool is legal in MA! If you cant get a slingshot, I doubt Martha is going to allow heavy artillery!

I am aware of a restriction on guns over 50 cal, but none on ammo. Maybe there is a Federal law on it.

AFAIK, the only restriction on large ammo is anything containing over 1/4oz explosive is a DD, requiring a tax stamp. I think 40mm HEDP is one of the few that crosses that line.

What atmay said and ANY round that is HE, HEI, HEDP, etc. will be a DD and have the $200/round tax stamp.
