Interesting Video/Article about Switzerland.

There are some things that I believe are somewhat different in Switzerland than they are here however. While you may ride around with a rifle slung over your shoulder - I do not believe the average Swiss has the same access to ammo that we have here. For instance for people who keep a rifle at home - they have a sealed battle pack of ammo for that rifle - but it must stay sealed. When they go to the range - as those kids were doing - they ammo they use at the range is given to them there - and must be accounted for.

If you are interested in the Swiss thing these two books make for some interesting reading - and make you think a little about the way things are done over here.

That may be true for their issued rifle and ammo, but not for their personally owned weapons.

Good overview of Swiss laws on Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_politics_in_Switzerland

There are ammo controls but they're fairly weak overall.

The most annoying thing about their law appears to be a justification
for "need" to get a carry permit, but supposedly some areas have
liberal issuance. Sounds a bit like MA! Course the
difference is one is probably 1000 times more likely to -need-
their concealed weapon than they would be in Switzerland. When
you look at their stats, everyone else looks like a third world
country. [laugh]
