My wife is a non-citizen...this is what I purchased for her to be used as a home defense weapon:

While I recognize this is not the optimal choice for home defense...I would not want to be shot with one. I plan on shooting this each time I go to the range
My other option was to have her apply for a non-resident FID. This would have allowed the use of a shotgun. However, such a license would have been costly (yearly renewal fee of $100 coupled with the hassle, the safety course, and the $100 application fee).
