It has nothing to do with crime or safety. There's a significant chunk of the population in this state that wishes to do away with the ownership of firearms by private citizens. If they could, they would just ban them outright. Since they can't get away with such a heavy handed tactic, they come up with lame reasons for restrictions that sound good in media interviews. Since most people in Massachusetts don't bother looking into issues, they buy into the arguments, and support the legislation.

We can complain all we want about our politicians. It won't do any good. We have to get our message out to the public (to counter the nonsense coming out of Beacon Hill), and then have to remove those politicians who shovel this nonsense from office in a legal fashion.
