Georgetown/Rowley State Forest-Bowhunting only?

Took a walk through Georgetown Rowley state forest today. At the parking lot Is a sign posted that says "BOWHUNTING ONLY "
When did this happen did it go before public hearings or anything else?

That is news to me. The website doesn't list any restrictions on shotguns. Was it an official looking sign, or something one of the anti neighbors might have put up? Try calling 978-887-5931 and ask if it's true.
